Keyboard shortcuts help you work faster in XBuilder. Learn these shortcuts to streamline your popup building workflow.

Workflow Tips​

Efficient Editing​

  1. Use Escape to deselect quickly
  2. Use Ctrl+D to duplicate elements
  3. Use Ctrl+Z freely (generous history)
  4. Use P to toggle popup visibility
  1. Use Ctrl+K for quick access
  2. Use S to see element structure
  3. Use number keys for tabs

Common Workflows​

Creating elements:

  1. Open Widgets tab (or 1)
  2. Click element to add
  3. Configure in panel

Styling elements:

  1. Select element
  2. Use panel tabs
  3. Adjust settings

Testing:

  1. Press P to toggle popup
  2. Switch devices in header
  3. Verify behavior

Customizing Shortcuts​

Currently, keyboard shortcuts cannot be customized. Use the built-in shortcuts as documented.

Troubleshooting​

Shortcuts Not Working​

Check:

  • Focus is on canvas (not in text input)
  • Browser isn't capturing the shortcut
  • No modal dialogs open
  • Keyboard language settings

Browser Conflicts​

Some shortcuts may conflict with browser shortcuts:

  • Ctrl+S — May trigger browser save
  • Ctrl+D — May trigger bookmark

XBuilder tries to capture these, but some browsers override.

Input Fields​

When typing in input fields:

  • Most shortcuts are disabled
  • Escape exits the field
  • Standard text editing applies
